Notes from artist: The god Apollo was banished from Olympus after killing a huge python, Gaea's son, who threatened his mother. Apollo fired 100 arrows at the snake's body, killing him. Apollo is associated with archery and also with the sun. I created an object whose shape and color resembles a black hole that absorbs sunlight (the opposite of the sun, which radiates light). I made 100 arrows using local bamboo and cactus spikes. Using a bow I shot them at the object. The bamboo arrows stuck into the black hole turning it into something which resembles the radiance of sunlight. This act is a symbolic homage to the god Apollo and the Sun.
